It always struck me how low the ceilings are. They were probably at the minimum height - is that 7’? But it feels oppressive to me. That Skylobby look is not appealing to me at all. Dark, gloomy, most of the time crammed with people, imagine being in there with a crowd of other people when the plane hit.

The buildings were spectacular but the security design was disastrous and even more so when they made the building thinking about the impact of a plane, the wall was made of cardboard "" it flew away and fire and smoke entered

One person in the towers had a camera and took a lot of pictures of the inside of the towers when it was burning and when it collapsed they found the camera but I don’t know what they did with the photos- would be cool to see it

Even without pocket sized camera phones that don’t exist yet until about late 2002, there are still pocket sized digital cameras such as the Canon Powershot S100 Digital Elph, released in May 2000.

I was 12 years old when 9-11 happened. I remember coming home from school (I’m in Canada)and my mom had it on the TV. I literally asked her what movie she was watching. Her reply was “that’s not a movie, it’s real” I remember thinking how and why. RIP to everyone who lost someone that day. It’s still a haunting sight. ❤

Thanks for the photos. I worked in 1WTC for six years (in the 1980s). Every day for six years, I took one of the express elevators from the concourse up to the sky lobby on 78 (shown at 00:17), where I then took one of the local elevators (shown in the smaller hallway at 1:35) up to the 97th floor where I worked. I'll never forget the day in Sept 1985 when NYC had hurricane winds. At lunch that day, I took the express elevator on 78 down to the concourse to get a sandwich, and I guess for our safety, the elevator was running in super slow speed. It literally took about 30 mins to go from the 78th floor down to the concourse (normally about a 30-second ride).

Not so long ago it was a shock for me to learn that there were people who literally rejoiced at the disaster that happened. Humanity is lost...

North Tower????

0:14 is haunting because floor 77 was exactly where the impact zone for the South Tower began; the plane hit from floors 77 to 85. It's eerie how that elevator's serviced floors are all the floors impacted by the strike. Fortunately, a decent number of people were able to escape from the South Tower, but it's truly shocking.

I had no idea they held weddings in the towers. I wonder how that couple at 2:58 feels knowing their special venue is no more...

its surreal that the entire original site was either destoyed in the attacks or later damaged so severely it had to be demolished. Being a Gen-Z person I was not alive yet at the time of the attacks so its really hard to comprehend that all of this was literally erased and there is no traces of it except for the memorial and the new tower in its place. Its upsetting but the victims hopefully are at peace in the afterlife still going to work in those towers hopefully.

These photos show the absolute force that impacted these towers, an absolutely horrific day for the whole world apart from those that orchestrated that deverstation, I will never forget the brave poor souls ❤😢x

I can’t even imagine how horrifying it must’ve been to be in either of those towers.

I worked across the street from the World Trade Center during a strike when I was a flight attendant. I never went into the buildings. They creeped me out and I had the feeling they were going to end badly and would fall. I did not foresee the aircraft connection, though I was a flight attendant. When this happened, I remembered my intuition and got a shiver down my spine. I also foresaw, sort of, the Challenger disaster ( I just knew Christie McAuliffe would never see her class again) and the Avianca crash (which I told my whole flight crew the morning of the crash, so I had evidence that I foresaw it and the crew never forgot that).

I cannot watch an older movie, which shows the Towers, without feeling sad and sorrow for those who lost their lives. They were such an icon. Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Sydney Opera House, Taj Mahal, the Kremlin. Things that instantly tell you where you are.

Shot just 3 days after my 6th birthday! Cool to see my city on that particular day. My family was probably getting ready for Thanksgiving festivities when this was shot, given it would be a week away. I was probably in school that very morning at P.S. 119 in The Bronx. My first time visiting the Observation Deck wouldn't be until November 16th, 1991 on my 10th birthday. Thanks for bringing back great memories!❤
